For Golf Bags what is generally used and best? A Cart bag or a bag with a stand?

It depends.

If you’re going to walk and/or travel, then the weight of a carry bag (with stand) is probably the better option.

If you’re going to ride in a cart, then the cart bag is a better option.

I have both; I use my carry bag most of the time, but will use my cart bag when I know I’m going to be riding for a length of time.

  3. Both good answers. When in doubt, I’d say go for the stand bag for three reasons:

    1) usually cheaper;
    2) lighter;
    3) can be strapped to a cart just as well as a cart bag.

  4. This may sound like I’m being an a$$, but if you’re walking, it’s best to use a stand bag. If you’re riding in a cart, it’s best to use a cart bag. I have both for both occasions.
