The Most Amazing Golf Courses of the World: Son Vida Golf Course, Mallorca
http://janson.com Son Vida Golf course was officially opened by Rainier of Monaco in 1964; making it the oldest golf course on the Balearic Islands. It is situated in the centre of the luxurious exclusive residential area “Son Vida” from which it gets its name. The course is only 3km away from the centre of Palma de Mallorca. The clientele of the course is accordingly demanding. This is a meeting place of local prominent people, rich inhabitants living in the neighbourhood as well as tourists. The game runs through a fashionable exclusive residential area and gives a short insight into the life of the rich and the famous on Mallorca. The course extends over two very diverse areas; hilly on the first half with uneven and narrow paths on the first nine holes and level on the second half with flat and wide paths. Kurt Rossknecht, the renowned Golf course designer, has just recently remodelled the course. The result was an exciting symbiosis between a traditional course design and the new and currently contemporary design principles.
