what is the down side to non cleated golf shoes?

I am looking at buying non cleated Golf shoes online and don’t know if it is a waste of money, or if I need to get cleated shoes.
Etonic puts outs a non-cleated shoe. It is called the G-Sok. Has a Goodyear sole that has many nobs and protrusions that act like cleats but no cleats themselves.
Downside? If you walk on concrete or asphalt a lot and wear the sole down you can not replace anything. As much as I like my Etonics, the shoes still attracts junk to the bottom that needs to be blown off.
Upside: They are comfortable and do work much better than tennis shoes. The overall benefit? A smaller profile that would work well on firmer and dryer surfaces.
If you could find a pair for less than $50, I would give them a try!

It would depend on your swing speed,you need some sort of traction.

if u golf in the morning when there is dew on the ground or if it is raining out you will most likely slip violently and possibly hurt yourself! Id say stick with the good old cleated golf shoes because they are obviously proven to work and the idea of non cleated golf shoes dosent sound very promising…to me anyway

get cleated shoes…much better traction, most players wearing them wear the new quick grass release softspikes, they actually come on the newer shoes…fyi some of the pros still wear nails when playing…
